The work that inspired Michael is Breathing Lessons by Phyllis Bramson. He is not a visual artist but a musician and writer, who use many of the same elements as a visual artist; color, form, and sound. All of these are incorporated into his poem, Divine Inhalation. As you can see in Phyllis' painting, there are many aspects of breath, and his poem uses breathing or breath as a metaphor for life giving or life force. Michael also took some inspiration from the Book of Genesis. Though his work is not a tangible work of art, the poem is framed to display as a suitable piece of art.
