ARTIST: Frederic Bonin-Pissarro DESCRIPTION: In my later work as a painter several graphic elements have been instrumental in re-defining my style from post-impressionism to Abstract Expressionism. I thought creating a repeat pattern using several of these elements would be my best option to represent my style, create continuity and interest but also avoid the "Easter Egg" effect. SIZE: 12" H X 20" L X 6" D DISPLAY LOCATION: Eye 1 - 2648 Erie Ave, Hyde Park Square ARTIST BIO: With a modern twist, Frédéric Bonin-Pissarro continues a long family tradition of fine arts, his great-grandfather being one of the original Impressionists, Camille Pissarro. Born and raised in Paris, Frédéric learned the art of painting with father Claude Bonin-Pissarro. Jean Edelmann also influenced his style. After studying in Paris at École de Sèvres and École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts, he settled in Cincinnati, Ohio. In Cincinnati, he taught color theory, character design, writing scenario, illustration, composition and layout at the Art Institute of Cincinnati and received the Key to the City in 2001. He received a B.A. and M.A., summa cum laude, from the Morehead State University in Kentucky, where he also taught. Having recently moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, he is a professor in the Art Department at UNLV.
