"It's the first time that we've ever actually opened up the course to the general public, and sold individual tickets. We are having a fundraising event: Conquer the Course at the Circle of Courage," said Amber Stogner the Lead Facilitator.
The Circle of Courage is a high ropes course. This means that it is both an obstacle course, and 40 ft in the air.
"I challenged myself today. I'm deathly afraid of heights, so just climbing the pole was a lot, and then walking across the pole was ridiculous. I just tried to concentrate on the wall, I knew I had to get to the wall and then I was golden," said Jeni Bailey, a Bismarck Resident.
The course is perfectly safe, a belay line is secured to the climbers harness and anchored by a whole team. If you fall, the team will slowly lower you to the ground. This is also how you get down at the end of the obstacle.
"So a lot of what we do is confidence building, team building, and empowering ourselves, and that's great. It works with girl scouts and it works with the entire community," said Stogner.
