Checkmate Artisanal Winery 2014 Little Pawn Chardonnay, BC VQA
Floral nose; juicy and bright with racy acidity and crisp flavors; elegant and deep; long and graceful.
Valued at $1000
Grgich 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley 1.5L
Ripe plum nose; silky, lush and rich with smooth texture and fine structure; balanced with juicy plum and toasted oak; balanced, refined and long. Biodynamic.
2012 Herzog Premium Selection Cabernet Sauvignon, Dry Creek, 1.5L
This single vineyard displays a rich velvet ruby color with aromas of blackberry, cinnamon and spice. Bold flavors of black raspberry in the finish with silky notes of vanilla. This is hands-on, artisan winemaking at its best.
Olivet Lane Pinot Noir 2013 Merry Edwards Vineyard, 1.5L
Bright ruby color; silky and ripe with bright cherry and spice; earthy and savory, dense, and rich; long and balanced.
Moraga Vineyards 2006 Estate Propietary Red, 1.5L
The 2006 vintage may well be our favorite to date for red wine. The nose is beautifully perfumed with seamlessly integrated oak, cinnamon spice, cigar box, and predominately red fruit. This wine has an eluzive extraordinary balance between power and elegance.
Mt. Brave Cabernet Sauvignon 2014
The top score, though, has to go to the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon, which is 90.5% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest small quantities of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec. This wine has an opaque purple color, a big, sweet kiss of blueberry and blackberry liqueur, some graphite, a juicy, full-bodied, savory mouthfeel, and excellent purity and underlying balance. This seamlessly rich mountain Cabernet Sauvignon should age effortlessly for two decades or more.
Ridge Vineyards 2011 Monte Bello Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, 6L
The 2011 Monte Bello emerges from the glass with tobacco, grilled herbs, smoke, incense and plums melding together in this soft, beautifully textured Monte Bello. The 2011 is a wine of exceptional textural finesse. The 100% new oak is totally integrated. In 2011, Ridge used a total of 18 of a possible 24 lots for the final blend. The presence of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon is the highest since the 1980s. I expect the 2011 to be a relatively early drinking Monte Bello, but time will be the judge. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2031
Valued at $2124
Sea Smoke 2014 Chardonnay Signed by Winemaking Team 1.5L
A concentrated white peach element plays strongly on the nose of this coveted bottling, with touches of sea salt and a sharp tangerine-like edge. Ripe peach and cherimoya flavors show on the palate, but a crescendoing citrus-driven acidity cuts through the richness and allows more savory components like salt and smoked nut to blossom on the finish
VIK 2010 Red Wine, 1.5L
The holistic VIK wine is world-class, meant for long-term aging, and has the promise to become one of the best wines in the world. This exceptional wine is the result of an elegant blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carménère, Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, with blends chosen yearly in different combinations. It has a long finish and persistent retro-nasal aromas. VIK is a complex, elegant wine full of pleasure.
Williams Selyem 2015 Westside Road Neighbors Pinot Noir 1.5L
Lush black cherry and vanilla nose; smooth and creamy with depth and vanilla oak; supple, rich and complex, long and balanced.
Clark-Claudon Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon 2000
The 2000 Cabernet is a rich elegant wine whose trademark deep purple core draws you in to enjoy aromas of pronounced ripe plums, raspberries & black berries with underlying damp cedar. This very complex wine then reveals hidden layers of wet earth & stones while nuances of cassis accompany a warm, full, deliciously rich mouth feel with well integrated tannins and perfect balance. The long yummy finish will provoke you to linger in comfort before it invites you in for more.
SAVED Wines Red Blend 2013 (3 Bottles)
SAVED Red Wine is a robust, powerful wine with a big personality and a generous finish. It is big, bold and rich, with pedigree sourcing from California's finest regions.
SAVED Red is a robust blend of Merlot, Malbec, Syrah, Zinfandel, and small amounts of other red varietals curated to add more dimension to the aromatics and rich fruit flavors. It opens with aromas of ripe figs and vanilla followed by jammy flavors of blackberries and spice, all perfected by French-oak aging. Its finish is long and generous.
1995 Dom Perignon - 6 Bottles
Dom Pérignon 6 bottle set is a new upscale trend by commissioning Pritzker-Prize-winning über-architect, Richard Meier (L.A.'s Getty Center, Atlanta's High Museum, etc) to design an exclusive, limited-edition (250) case. The sleek quarter-inch frosted and clear Lucite container, finished with stainless steel handles, holds six bottles of Dom Pérignon 1995, the current vintage. Meier says, "The design of this simple, luminous carrying case... is, like much of my work, expressive of a distinct transformation of modernism. It will, I believe showcase the elegant lines of the Dom Pérignon bottles." Indeed, it resembles a high-tech transparent Bondian suitcase, but here the charge within is that of the Dom. Each individually numbered case is etched with "Richard Meier for Dom Pérignon.

Wind Racer 2014 Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley, 1.5L
Aromas of sweet spice, blackberry and espresso bean immediately introduces you to the bold personality of the Russian River Valley. The robust aromas give way to rich black cherry followed by dark chocolate nuances. Perfectly balanced, the full-bodied structure displays great concentration and firm but refined tannins. This lush mouthfeel showcases the lively characteristics and quality the Russian River Valley is known for.
