ATTENTION SECRET AGENTS: We are pleased to announce that the theme of the Friends of the Ramsey County Libraries third Annual Gala is "Spies, Lies & Literature." Get ready to get your James Bond on in February as we celebrate the genre of spy thrillers!
THE MISSION: should you choose to accept it, is to have fun while helping to raise $30,000 to add 1,500 new items to the lending collection of the Ramsey County libraries located in Maplewood, Mounds View, New Brighton, North St. Paul, Roseville, Shoreview and White Bear Lake. In 2000, the libraries' collection budget was $1.3 million. For 2016, it is only $850,000 yet library patrons continue to request items in multiple formats including print copies, large print books, e-books, and talking books.
This exciting public fundraiser will feature a silent auction, a live auction, hors d'oeuvres, wine, live music, dancing, prizes, and much more! All proceeds benefit the libraries.
REGISTRATION: $50 online pre-sale registration is available via this site until 12:00 noon on Friday, February 5 or $60 tickets may be purchased at the door on event night. $25 of each ticket is tax-deductible.
Please note that paper tickets will not be mailed to pre-registrants. Your name will be added to a list of paid reservations at the check-in table. We have plenty of space at the Roseville Library for additional guests and will be welcoming walk-in registrants at the gala. We hope to see you there!
THE LOOK: Costumes or festive evening attire are encouraged but not required. Prizes will be awarded for the best costumes. Click here for spy-themed costume ideas on the Friends' website.
DONATE: If you are unable to join us, please consider making a donation by clicking "View Items" above.
Please note that auction winners who are not present at the event when the auction closes will be responsible for contacting the Friends office to schedule pickup of silent auction items.
A big thank you to our Platinum Level Sponsor, Metro State University, and thank YOU for helping the libraries provide free access for all to the knowledge and ideas that transform lives!
